About christophoto

Being a photographer almost my entire life and fascinated by the fact that one instantly captures a moment in time for ever. This fraction of time held still, frozen that is never to be repeated inspires and drives me forward, deeper into the endless possibilities that photography gives me. Now in the new age of digital I find that I can go even deeper; manipulating images, changing prospective, creating images that are unmanifested, (they are there but have not been found), ethereal forces that exist and at work in the universe but can not be seen. To making then manifested by bringing these images into the world, is my ambition, to go further, discover and find more which this incredible world has to show me. Chris is qualified photographer working in editorial, corporate, advertising & press relations. His work has been published in national & international newspapers and magazines. Recent clients include CableCom, Orchid Markerting, Addesi PR, Publisity Seekers, Tees Valley Regeneration, Royal Northern College of Music, Plateform, Make A Wish Foundation, The Big Partnership, EDF Energy, Poundland, Ingeus UK. A Qualified member of The British Institute of Professional Photographers (BIPP) and CRB Disclosure certifide through the Cleveland Youth Association.

Wedding couple on HM Bark Endeavour

Nadia & David have their wedding reception on the Endeavour in Stockton on Tees and what a lovely day for a wedding. After photographing the ceremony at Stockton on Tees registry office, off we all went to The Endeavour on the river Tees. I had to get some photos on deck but the best shot, I think is of Nadia in the Museum deck.

Digital cameras make taking photographs easier

I personally have seen a big change in my career as a professional wedding photographer. When I first started out I used film with three cameras to shoot a wedding. Two 35mm Nikons, one had black & white the other colour film and a 6×6 Hasselblad, which had 12 frames to shoot. Now, in the digital age, I use one, a Canon 5D. But the competition is also much greater now, as most people have access to an affordable digital cameras and software, it’s so much easier to take a photograph.

One can take 100’s of images to try a capture that special moment, but it’s the experience of years working as a photographer looking through the viewfinder that counts. It’s a lifetime’s education of seeing what makes a great photograph and taking it. A photograph has to look ‘real’ and have depth to be seen and stand out, not just as a record of an event, but as a photograph in it’s entirety, the whole of the subject, something that provokes. ¬†That makes the difference, a good photographer lives and breaths in that moment of something whole.
